The Munds Park Trail Stewards (MUTS) had a very productive June 12th Volunteer Event. The volunteers, along with the Coconino National Forest Trail Crew, performed maintenance on the Brad’s Trail, the Mud Tank Trail, and the Frog Tank Loop. In addition, the crew cleared debris at the Iron Springs Trailhead and along the Little Horse Trail. After our tasks were completed, we enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by the MUTS volunteer lunch staff.
There has been an increase of construction debris and trash in the Coconino National Forest. If you see someone dumping construction debris or trash in the forest, do not confront the violator. If possible, get the vehicle license plate information, take photographs, and note the location. Report the incidents to the Coconino National Forest Supervisor's Office (M-F 8 a.m. - 4 P.M.) at 928.527.3600. All illegal National Forest violations should be reported to the Supervisors Office, the exception is wildfires or illegal campfires, report those violations to the Forest Dispatch 928.526.0600 or 911.
